New Comics for Wednesday, September 4, 2024
/As the weather cools and the leaves start to fall, Green Brain Comics is heating up with a fresh batch of new comic releases for the week of September 4, 2024! We've got a trio of exciting new titles that you're definitely going to want to add to your pull list.
**Minor Arcana #1** from BOOM! Studios brings us another eerie masterpiece from Jeff Lemire, the celebrated creator behind "Descender" and "Black Hammer." This ongoing series follows Theresa, who returns to her small hometown to care for her ailing mother, only to discover that the "magic" her mother was known for may not have been so fake after all. Fans of "Locke & Key" and "Helen of Wyndhorn" will love the mix of supernatural suspense and small-town drama that Lemire has crafted here.
Marvel's **Exceptional X-Men #1** introduces us to a new era of mutantkind with writer Eve L. Ewing and artist Carmen Carnero at the helm. Kate Pryde is trying to escape her X-Men past by living a quiet life as a bartender—until she's pulled back into the mutant world to lead a new team of young mutants. This series promises to be a fresh take on the X-Men legacy, and if you’ve been following titles like "Marauders" or "X-Men Red," this is one you won’t want to miss.
In the world of horror and dark fantasy, **Autumn Kingdom #1** from Oni Press is a must-read. Cullen Bunn and Christopher Mitten have teamed up to bring us a spine-chilling story about two young sisters who discover ancient, mythical statues in the Swedish forest. When their parents mysteriously vanish, the girls must navigate a labyrinth of local folklore to survive. Fans of "Harrow County" and "Hellboy" will find plenty to love in this atmospheric, creepy tale.
